Students

Parents and students, as members of the St. Rose of Lima community, agree to comply with the policies and regulations of the school and the Archdiocese of Denver. The staff is committed to establishing a school atmosphere permeated by gospel values and a spirit of mutual respect, order, responsibility and self-discipline. It is the responsibility of every student to respect the rights of all who are involved in the educational process and to refrain from any behaviors which interfere with the education of fellow students. Every child is expected to put forth his or her best efforts, and to work according to individual God-given talents and abilities.

Profile of Saint Rose of Lima Students

The 200 students served every year by St Rose of Lima School are among the most economically disadvantaged youth in Colorado. Eighty percent of our students come from families living at or below the poverty level ($27,560 for a family of four in 2008), with another 15% being just above the poverty level. Thus, the issues addressed by St Rose of Lima School are generally poverty issues  surrounding education such as high drop-out rates among minority and inner-city youth and providing a safe environment for students. A large majority of students are consistently from Hispanic families, and many students come from families with single and/or unmarried parents. 95% of all students are Hispanic.
